Students: Week of March 11, 2024

by Chris Schmidt on March 11, 2024

Hello OSM Parents,

Here is what is coming up for OSM:

Wednesday Night Community March 13
6:30-8 p.m.

Middle School

Middle School students will be meeting in the Upper Level Youth Room and will go through NUA. This is a RightNow Media series and the leaders guide and videos are available here: https://app.rightnowmedia.org/en/content/details/265320.

Here is the session three summary: Jesus’ tomb was found empty three days after his death—so what happened to the body? One of three things is possible: either Jesus faked his death, the body was stolen, OR Jesus actually rose from the dead. Crucifixion was designed to kill slowly—no one survived that kind of torture. So, if he really died, maybe the body was stolen and the disciples lied about the resurrection. Why, then, would they choose women as their key witnesses? (Matthew 28:5-8). In the first century, the word of a woman was not considered legal testimony. As for the Romans and the Jews, they both had strong motives for keeping Jesus in the grave—and yet, neither group produced the body when rumors of resurrection began to circulate. Is it possible Jesus really did come back from the dead? If so, it changes everything (1 Corinthians 15:14).

High School

High School students will meet in the lower level youth room (behind the welcome desk) at 6:30. This week, the High School students will be covering the Romans Road. The Roman’s Road will walk through a some key verses in Romans that will cover topics surrounding salvation.

Sunday Morning March 17

We are continuing on through The Thread series. This week we will be covering The Prophets and you can find a parent letter linked here. Please use the handout to walk through some questions with your student after the lesson.
